Anyone that clicked on the bad links should immediately update their virus software and do a full computer scan. The majority of hacks like that are to load viruses and similar hacking software.

Nothing like a hijacked computer to ruin your day.

Sometimes I see a word that is a different color. If I mouse over it, up pops an ad to be clicked on.

I'm thinking that in this case, it's to draw attention to the sponsors.....

BTW, I'm using Linux with FF...I have no virus, spam, malware checkers etc. and I have never gotten infected. It's the way Linux operates. One logs in at the user level, not at the root.

My antivirus has gone off a few times in the past 6 months on threads. I reported them to the Moderators. I think you are correct, it is the advertisements causing issues.

I have the same problem. I start reading about trucks and guns and the next thing you know I'm surfing some **** site.
I use a MacBook 2.1 with Safari and Flash Player has caused some freezes and an occasional crash (Safari quits). Sites seem to use a lot of Flash Player in ads and videos. Today I uninstalled Flash Player using the uninstaller from Adobe's website and re-installed the latest version. So far so good.

Maybe we need to get them back. Just joking. I mean but really they only have time to just sit around and send viruses to other peoples computer. I mean especially right now in this economy nobody has money to dump into their computer because of somebody. I don't know about some people.
