Axle and Differntial pan Fluid
I have a 2001 10cyl 6.3l 4wd Excursion-Dealer is telling me the Fluid in axles and diff. pan should be changed every 30,000- Manuel says-"
Change automatic transmission/transaxle fluid on all vehicles equipped with AX4S,4F50N, 4R70W,4R100, 4F27E. Inspect automatic transmission fluid level on allother vehicles, if equipped with dipstick. Consult your dealer for your particular requirements.
Dealer wants $200 per axle plus $150 for the pan
I have no idea whats fluid my EX is quipped with.
I see various opinions on this. Some say its Synthetic-lasts lifetime-just check for leaks
Others say only if truck was submerged in water.
Dealer said the fluid looks dark. Someone said its dark to begin with.
Any help on this??
