Hi there, i have a 2001 7.3L SD 4x4, im having the weirdest problem. Roughly every 5000 miles it blows out the front hubs, this truck is nver off roaded with, its a highway rig. ive tried warn, super winch, and factory hubs and they continue to blow. i have the vac. lines blocked off and im running out of ideas, anyone think they may have a solution?? thanks for your time
By "blow" do you mean they no longer engage - aka stripped internally?
How often do you use 4WD?
Have you checked the stub shafts for excessive play?
Have you checked the hub/bearing assy & balljoints for play/movement?
Usually tearing up hubs is related to heavy or, improper 4x4 usage. We have several 99.5-2003 trucks that see mixed (off hwy & on hwy) driving w/ substantial 4x4 usage that still have original hubs on them.

Check this write-up for info on which needle bearings to check. If they are toast your stub shafts could be moving too much. If that is the case make sure they aren't worn.
Also check your wheel joints (u-joints on the axle stubs) to make sure they aren't worn and allowing too much movement in the stub shafts.
I am not sure what could be causing both hubs to fail. Are you driving on pavement a whole lot with 4x4 engaged?
Was the truck in any accident that could have caused misalignment of the drive train?
Is your front diff in good shape? (looking for something that would affect both hubs)
Curious problem and I hope you post up the solution.
The axles have been replaced, replaced ball joints twice. the truck is a pilot truck so the 4x4 is next to never being used. its driving a average of 65 mph on the interstates. everything has been replaced already except for the ring, pinion, carrier so that why im confused on this problem
