i replaced my drag link, center link, tie rod end with moog products and replaced my radiator core support and frame brackets, she rides like a tank. would new shocks up front help out alot? anything i could do? how can i tell if my front leafs are worn out?
Got some specs on the truck? F250 or F350? 4x2 or 4x4? I am assuming it is an F350 4x4 since you're talking about the drag link, but I don't want to assume...
Haha sry ya its a 97 f350 reg cab 4x4 150k I also got a front end elignment and replaced the bushings in the bar behind the front axle I think that was a control arm .
The most common things to improve the ride are to do a reverse shackle kit (RSK) and to replace the factor F350 leafs with V code Springs from a Super Duty truck. The RSK will give you a little lift in the front as well and gets the pivot point for the spring in the front where it should be (instead of the rear where it is from the factory). The V-codes are a little longer than the stock leaf springs but they offer a smoother ride. I believe Sky Manufacturing has just released their new RSK that is designed to be used with the V-codes. It's not a cheap mod, but it will definitely give you a better ride (and provide 4" of lift in the front). I personally would rather have a kit that would only lift the front 2" or so, but I guess you can't have it all!
Thanks man ya I was looking at doing the 3inch sky kit once spring comes around , both the front and back . Will those leafs slide right in ? And where can I pick them up. Junkyard?
Supposedly with that kit, all you need is the kit and the leaf springs. I would gues syou could go to a JY and get the springs (just make sure you get the V-codes) or you could get them new, but I don't have any idea where you would start looking for them new.
Look at either the vehicle they came off of (the spring code on the VIN sticker should be V) or order them as V codes when you buy them new. I don't know if the codes are stamped on the springs or not.
