1: How many miles did you get out of your stock HPOP?
2: You guys with T500 how many miles have you gotten out of it ?
The reason I ask is my truck e99 has 205k on it and I am changing all orings on the engine and I wondering is this HPOP even have any more life in it? I am hoping I could just reseal / plug it and go another 45-50k.
I yes alot of guys going with the T500 and was wondering if any of you guy have put any real miles on one ?
And for the record if I didn't have money issues I would just go and buy a T500 and be done. So that is where your input will be very helpful.
Thanks Guys
when i sent the hpop to you it had about 70k miles on it Ken.......im just a mod junkie and wanted to see what the other pumps were all about.....
Bill what kind of hpop are you running and how many miles you have on it ?
Ken how many miles were on your truck when you put the hpop from Bill/ Indy F350psd on it ?
Hook up an AE and see what kind of numbers you get. I am sure mine has well over 100k, and I just checked number a couple nights ago and got over 2500psi out of it. I changed mine out several years ago when I did not know any better. Had the little leak in back. Now I know of course, but my T500 should be here in just a few days so I am wanting to see what kind of number that will put out.
I could be way off the mark, but my general thinking is that the stock HPOP could last the life of the engine since it's basically lubricated 100% of the time. I suppose that modified injectors could starve a stock HPOP of oil and that would reduce it's lifespan and/or possibly a weak LPOP could also do the same thing.
My truck has about 285k on the stock HPOP and duty cycle is right at 50% at WOT so it seems to be hanging in there pretty well. (I hope I just didn't jinx myself....)

an adrenaline and now she sits with 81k on the clock....
Thanks guys for all the input ! I now feel alot better about reusing the stock HPOP. I am hoping I can get the miles out of it like most of you guys did and are getting out of your HPOP. I am going to just reseal it and replace the bottom plug. Oh yea re oring the IPR. It was so oilly I have no idea where it was leaking. It was really oilly by the front cover on top And hopefully I'll be able to get the miles out of her like Chris is getting out of his. 389,000 them are the kind of #'s I am looking for out of mine. I can only hope and pray the old truck will be good to me. Because this the last truck I'll ever buy.
Juat a thought: Since a lot of the lubricosity of our fuel is gone (low sulfer) think about using 5% bio fuel a lot more. I find it generaly less expensive than #2 and less expensive, easier than a lot of additives, you get it at the pump no extra stops and less $$$. It is a win win item. My 01 7.3 is at 194K and going strong. I think I need to re-seal the turbo first. I have blown 2 lpops from to stiff a mixture of home made bio. This wiped out more than the savings in making my own. Not to mention the wife is a lot happier (no mess). Chemecly the bio is good for the internals and seals it cleans every thing eventually.
I just resealed my 7.3 and have no fears of sticking with the stock pump at 170K. The only thing that should even need replacing on the 7.3 are the o-rings and some hoses now and then. Mechanicals should ALL be good to 500K+ (not counting starters, alternators, and rust).

Just my .02
I was thinking about trying to get into making bio since i have never seen it for sale around here.
What do you mean by "I have blown 2 lpops from to stiff a mixture of home made bio." How do you make it to stiff? Not sure that I will even do it yet as I would not know where to start getting the oil.
thanks
