problem with reverse light.

problem with reverse light.
ok so both reverse lights didnt work, now i unplugged the sensor plug from the top of the tranny and plugged it back it, now the pass side rev light works. now the driver side doesn't. Ive messed with the wiring the best i could. nothing seems too bad but i just cant seem to get the wiring right. all the other lights work. brake, running, blinkers. but the driver side reverse just doesn't work. now when i unplug the sensor in the tranny and reverse it and plug it back in neither side works. normal?

Sounds like your issue is unrelated to the sensor. Since you have a dump body, open up all the wiring sheaths along the whole length and check for butt connectors that filled up with water and broke. That's a very common issue with upfitter bodies on any truck, esp. a 20-year-old one.

If the wiring and the bulb seem OK, it could well be the socket. Might not be getting a good connection ( often on the ground side), or it might be corroded.
