18 inch rims

I have a97 f150 4x4 5 speed with the 4.6 triton and 3:55 gear ratio. Want to put 18 inch rims and toyo mud terrains on it do you think that's to much tire for the power train? Any advice would be appreciated!

I don't think so. Not to mention you have a manual trans that helps a lot. Also depends on what your going to do with it. Mud it or pavement pound?
I had a 97 with the 4.6 4" trailmaster susp lift stock gears with 35" ssr's it did fine. But I never offroad it was all for show.

I am sure that it will do fine, but switching to a higher gearing wouldn't hurt anything.

Are you going 35s? I have a 97 4x4 5 speed too and I have 33s on it right now with 17 inch rims and its plenty big to me. Power is still good too but I wouldn't go up to 35s
