15 inch rims??????

ok so heres my issue. where i live im having one hell of a time finding 33inch muds for my stock 16 inch steels. and so i need to know if i can fit 15 inch rims on my 89 f-250 without modification, and if i cant then i need to know what and how i would need to modify my truck so i can run 15 inch rims. because it seems to be that i can get 33's really easily if i go to a 15. now ive tried searching the fourm for this info and have gotten nothing. please any help on this matter would be appreciated.

I would assume it depends on if it's a 4x4 or not....If not I wouldn't see why not.....What's the lug pattern, 8? 5?

this was gonna be my suggestion also....you would have a little bit of a narrow tread compared to a 12.50 but it is a nice size and looks good on those hd trucks. nitto has the terra grapplerr in a 285 that would be an awsome tire for everyday use

If wider is the goal, 305/70R16s. Same hight as 285s but wider.

Yes you can run 15s on your axles.. BUT you NEED the right backspacing to clear the brakes. Than, with that, the tires might stick out too far, and hit stuff...

I don't think you'll get a 15" wheel over the front disc brakes. You'd have to space it WAY out, & by the time you buy spacers & 15" wheels, you might as well just buy the right tires for it & be done.

So, they're gonna stick way out-that's murder on your wheel bearings. Plus it'll probably drive weird. And the 15's will probably not have a heavy enough load rating for a 3/4 ton truck. You'll have the cost of a set of 15" wheels and 15" tires to consider. All things considered, I think some 16" tires are a better way to go.

I think that's the way he should go too, but, he wanted a question answered, so I did.

I have 15s on my D60 and 10.25 that are under my wheeler, never have had wheel bearing issues on that.

if you have the 8 lug pattern you are probaly NOT going to find 15" rims. plus as mentioned above there are no 15" tires that are anything other than c rated for weight. Definatly not good if you do any kind of towing. I put a set of HT2's on my 03 dodge 3500 to prep her for sale and they squatted just from the weight of the truck. Stay with the 16" rims and get the 305/70/16. will be a lot easier and cheaper in the long run. just my .02
