A/C smells bad
It's been warm enough in the Houston area to need the air conditioning for the last couple days (until this morning thankfully... got us a good norther through...brr). Anyway, the smell emanating from my vents can best be compared to the smell of cheap tennis shoes which have gotten wet and then put up in a closet or other poorly ventilated area. It STINKS!!!

Since use of the A/C is intermittent during the winter, I realize that there is an area in the ductwork that can sit blocked off for a while when we're on full heat (and not defrosting). What is odd is the smell - this makes me think the drain for condensation from the evaporator coil is plugged.... anyone on here ever experience that? I haven't had a chance to crawl under the truck and look for it, but looking under the hood didn't make it obvious where that drain is. Once the blower has run for a while, it clears up.
Thanks in advance for any help.
try running the heater on high to completely dry out the duct system, then let it cool slowly...with the system off, spray a little lysol air freshoner down the vents.
