After I picked up a new phone...with a better camera, I've been using my digital image software to resize pics that I want to post...I've been downsizing them to 1024x768 pixels...the max size that FTE albums will allow.
56panelford that looks really good... where are you putting your switches? speaking of switches.. when I got my 55 the wiring was removed from the dash and the cluster was missing, I know it may be a dumb question I do know what all the switches are on the dash but what is the button for on the far left side for?

My dash extention will house all the switches and air defusers and well as heat/AC controls. The button you're talking about I am assuming is on your truck and that would be the start button as the ignition key olny supplied the power before the 56 models.

thanks, that's what I was assuming it was but was not sure
Joe & Vern,
You guys have beautiful interiors - Wow - Did you do it all at once or just as you went along & found things you liked?
Ben in Austin
(P.S. Joe - What are those twol little round things up by the windshield
on top of your dash? - I'm fairly certain I don't have those on my 1950).
Ben, I searched the thread for another Joe and didn't see one, so I guess you're talking to me... So, thanks for the kind words.
Those are the two screws holding the optional electric wiper motor assembly in the 51. One is a flat, the other round. I guess the PO couldn't find two that match. When I refurbished the motor, I just used the same screws to reinstall it. (I didn't have any that size that matched either.)
I have done nothing to the interior except thoroughly clean it. A PO gave it the two-tone paint job and extra chrome. I plan on someday finding two matching screws for the wiper assembly.
And here's my 54 dash. It's just rattle canned for now. I'll be stripping it down to bare metal when I do the body work. I'm also going to be adding a couple more gauges.
