1 wire alt
i just bought a 1963 f100 the floor boards and cab mounts are rusted out i am doing some work on it i was wondering if anyone has made brackets for a gm 1 wire alternator i was also wondering what was the trany that came with a 292 was it was a 3 on the tree

1 wire alt
I made the move to a gm alternator awhile back. I chose the internel regulator type with 3 wires. Battery to the battery, #1 to the idiot light and # 2 switched on and off with the key. As for the mount my truck has a 6 cylinder with a generator so I just modified the orignal bracket to work. I chose the stock 3 wire over the 1 wire type because replacment can be found anywhere and cheap!
