Im sick of fighting mine, the plastic just crumbles around the holes for light and the filters just fell out and they were brocken when took it apart to replace the speedo, thanks.

I had to pick one up at the JY. Unless you want to pay a ridiculous price for the aftermarket guys. I forget exactly which year, but they did change plastic in the later years and you can get them to fit 73-79 year trucks. The newer plastic doesn't crumble. My original 77 sure did. I think I found a 78 or 79 that worked well.

You can also find them in Econolines. I've been keeping my eyes peeled.

Yeah I got one out of a 79 and the one from my 79 is the same one, im finding it harder to find just the warning light and gauges I have in my custom instead of just the gauges. I dont really want to deal with changing the wireing harness. And those aftermarkets are freaking rediculouse like 75 just for the plastic backing. did any body find a way to work around the crumbling plastic without making it jerry rigges?

Econoline vans up to early 90s. I used just the housing and transferred all my gagues, spedo and printed circuit to the new back. Easy to do.

I found one in LMC they seemed reasonably priced. I just got tired of looking I couldn't seem to find them that where not damaged. I live in Phoenix and evry where I looked some one broke it trying to get it out and the one I did find I think the guy thought it was made of gold. So I am gonn order through LMC it will be in very good shape and if I remember right it wasn't to expensive I am also ordering the printed circuit as well

Maybe my catalog is old, if you could find out how much you paid it would be much obliged. See I can just glue the post on but then id have to take it apart to change one and the light filters would have to be glued in as well.

The backing ran me $80.00 and the circuit board ran me $70.00 I know that seems like alot lot but I knew it was right and has been trouble free since I got it and was not brittle at all

I've got one from a '79 that's in decent shape......mainly just dirty from sitting in a parts truck for several years.

It seems like everyone's Cheerios get pizzed in if you try to sell something before you post 25 times......I don't know WTF is up with that?..... but I won't say it's for sale.......but one could always PM........

Gauges.....the only warning lights are the "Brake" and "Fasten Belts"....

Don't worry about the PM...it's not like I put it on classifieds anyway...I was just responding to your inquiry.....we'll figure out something if you can use it?

1975/79 F100/350, 1975/80 Econoline, 1978/79 Bronco:

The instrument cluster backs were made from a composition material that can TURN TO DUST before your very eyes!

1981: FoMoCo came out with hard plastic instrument cluster backs, these were installed in Econolines and as the Service Part Replacement cluster backs for the above vehicles.

Some of crap cluster backs were replaced by the hard cluster backs under warranty, some were 'customer pay' but many were never replaced, and so today, are turning to dust.

E1PZ-10848-A .. Hard Plastic Cluster Back-Use with Oil & Amp Gauges / Obsolete = CARPENTER NOS OBSOLETE PARTS in Concord NC has 599 = 800-476-9653.

Applications: 1981/91 Econolines & all the above vehicles.
-------------------------------------------------------
E1PZ-10848-B .. Hard Plastic Cluster Back-Use with Oil & Amp Warning (idiot) Lights / Obsolete = CARPENTER has 114.

Applications: 1981/86 Econolines & all the above vehicles.
--------------------------------------------------------
NOTE inre to printed circuit boards:

With Oil/Amp Gauges: SAME all 1976/79 vehicles & 1980/91 Econoline ~ 1975 is different.

With Oil/Amp Warning Lights: SAME all 1979 vehicles & 1980/86 Econoline ~ 1975 is different, as is 1976/78.

btw: This is...at least...the 100th time I typed this same jazz here on FTE.

Not a problem partner.....won't hurt my feeling either way......I did take a closer look after reading the 100th time that NumberDummy posted .

This cluster is solid and in good shape. I took the back off and tweaked it a little to see if it would break.....no doing.....

Let me know if you change your mind. It's gonna be a few weeks before I start listing stuff that I have.
