Conversion Question
Ok im totally fed up with the e4od in my 90, its got electrical problems i cant hunt down, anyways all my previous ford have had manual transmissions in them, this one is going to be the next,so obvisously im better off trying to find a donor truck, should i try to find the borg warner t19 from a 6.9, or go with the zf5 5 speed, im running 3.55s in the rear, also if i find a complete donor truck thats four wheel drive how hard would it be to change that over too, or should i just leave it 2wd, im not too worried about having four wheel since my nissan titan is, but what ive seen with these old idi's and 4x4 they go thru any snow that mother nature can dump, i did find a swap on ebay, comes with the transmission, shifter, flywheel, clutch, slave cylinder, master cylinder, and fork, he was missing the crossmember, pedals and driveshaft, im curious too about the driveshaft due to my truck being 2wd if its necessary to swap that too

It's a pretty big job converting to 4wd with the front end being leaf sprung. It is possible however, but be much easier, and cost efficient to just find a 4wd truck and drive that.
If you don't really need it, don't bother, it's just more maintenance.
I'd go with the ZF5 5 speed, as it has OD, and plus with 3.55's will get your awesome mpg's! T19 with 3.55 is pretty decent to, as long as you keep it under 65.
You will need to mod your currant driveshaft, or find one to fit as non of these transmissions are the same length.
Pedal assembly is pretty easy to find, you will need one from an 87-91 truck only to fit your '90 though. F150-F450 all the same.
Will also be a good idea to get a firewall re-enforcement plate for the clutch pedal so the firewall doesn't crack, and give you headaches later on.
Heres my write up on it, and theres a link in my post at the bottom to purchase that plate.

If you replaced the rear tire size and did not change the conversion constant on the speedo then the trans will not work correctly.
Do some searching for E4OD/speedo conversion

heres my issue with the e4od thats in the truck, the overdrive light is flashing, go to pull codes with the snap on tool, nothing, either koer and koeo. So i got the light to flash and hooked the tool to it while it was flashing, again samething no codes, so i went ahead and replaced MLP, i switched the pins into the new connector that came with it, now the truck doesnt start in park, i adjusted the switch every which way i can and nothing, the truck will start in neutral but not park, also after i got the truck started i drove it, now the transmission is shifting a lot firmer but not as harsh as when the overdrive light is flashing.
im just fed up with the e4od, bad part is i have the 1st year of it
im ready to change it over to the zf5 and be done with the electronics
i did find on ebay a guy selling a trans from a 2wd, flywheel, slave cylinder, master cylinder, shifter and clutch assembly for $900 as a buy it now, my 88 f150 was in a accident the day after thanksgiving and was totalled so i have my clutch pedals, im basically short the driveshaft, and crossmember

Just a quick update, for g.p i called ford today about the MLP, aparantly they do offer one but with just connector, not the pigtail with it, so this weekend im gonna crawl under my buddies 91 f250 with the same trans to verify that i correctly pinned mine
with replacing the MLP with a new one should the line pressure be increased by the computer? reason i ask is because after i replaced it i did drive the truck after i started it and the trans did shift a lot firmer, i didnt think that MLP did all that in this old of a truck

the line pressure was instantly increased after replacing, most likely because you incorrectly pinned the updated plug and sent the trans into limp mode.
