tire and alignment problem

I went and got my truck aligned the other day because the truck pulled to the right real bad. They noticed that one tire which was on the front drivers side was worn all the way smooth on the inside of the tire. The tires are mud tires and I rotated them every 5000 miles. The other tires look fine. Well I drove it 40 miles home and the truck pulls to ghe right again. Any ideas?

Did you put on new tires, or still running the worn tires?

Im still running the one worn tire....guess I shouldve had them move that tire to the back. I was wondering why only one tire was like that tho

One tire was like that because that one was not aligned. Now assuming they did a proper job aligning the truck, the tire may be causing the truck to pull

Otherwise it could be a ball joint, stuck caliper, steering issues that weren't addressed. It could be a number of things.I would rotate the tire and see if anything changes

Also, I found that, after adding a levelling kit, two allignments at dealer to "factory specs" failed to properly align, leading to premature outer tire wear. Point being that an alignment is not an alignment. If you have altered your factory geometry, consider finding a shop familiar with aligning accordingly (e.g. 4WheelParts) . For me, had to add a camber adjustment kit. now wearing normal and drives better.

X2 what danorules said....

I got the camber kit and 'race aligned' my truck....I bought the lifetime alignment package at Firestone 7 Years ago....and haven't paid for an alignment since then...but it comes in handy because of the leveling kit throwing your geo out...you go through said parts faster...and they are easy enough to replace on your own...so it pays for itself time and time again.

On another note, I had the same thing happen to me with the tire wearing like that. Turned out that My struts were worn out. So add that and a tie rod end to the list previously mentioned above. Also I would check the bolts where your lower control arm bolt to the frame and check for damage. Any bottoming out lately? It could have been a nasty pot hole if you hit one of those that destroyed all the parts mentioned afore.
