and sometimes the pulls fight against the pressure on the latch from the door gasket.. (like in my case)..

I had 80-lb can type pulls and they couldn't open the door.. and stuck in the pulled state. and they made this terrible THUNK when triggered..
I even tried a pulley to double the pull power.. no success.

I found these gear driven, dual plunge motors and they are silent and work perfectly.. I am using braided pull wire..

I paid $60 for the set in 2009.

I used a unit from rocky hinge, it comes with the latches and solenoid all built into one unit, keyless entry and installation kit for $215 bux, if you use the search function i do have a thread on the installation of this kit.

X2...Altman is the only way to go if you wish to maintain the functionality of your OEM outer door handles. I used them on my 56 and I am very happy with the quality and fit.

broken 55 door lock

The driver side door lock is broken. I want to buy new door locks, Does the ford f100 door lock interchange with other models. Like thunder birds of the same year? The doors and ignition where different keys when I got the truck. Trying to do this repair most economical way possible.
Thanks

Jerryt

Here's how I did mine. Took a little fabricating but nothing too bad.
