head studds

head studds

I just bought a 04 6.0 long bed fx4. I just rolled 170000. Truck runs great. How can I tell if the head. Studds have been changed. I'm new to diesels so any help would be great. Thanks

6.0's don't have stud's they have bolts, you can tell by looking. If it has studs you will see a nut sitting on a washer with threads above the nut.

OK....sorry to sound stupid but your saying if I have studs instead of factory head bolts I should be good?

yes... at least youll know they arent stock.. and apparantly ARPs are spamped on the nut end of the stud so you can prolly read it if its been done...
