Need some help.
We are swapping the current 6 for an 8. We purchased the towers from a vendor , so we are set with them.
My question is, I thought I read previously that you need to relocate the v8 towers one hole either forward or back from the existing holes and drill a new hole.
I searched the forums but could not find the post. Can someone point me in the right direction or give some guidance on mounting the towers.
Hey Mike, need a little more help, we aren't mind readers here you know. You say 6 so are we to presume you are referring to the 300 6 that should have come with the truck? What V8 are we talking? And just for kicks & giggles what year & model truck?
It was likely Dave "Garbz2" that referred to the perch location.
Mike, The 302 does use a different tower from the 6 banger, and are available from any 68-79 F series with 302. The 240/300 & 302 share the same bell so you are ahead there. Be sure you have the correct 302 flexplate/flywheel. There was an early balance weight change.
I can't tell you which holes to locate the 302 perches in, but I'm sure another of our fine members will.
