Here is something to consider. I had Tony burn my chip. He suggested I save the extra coin and just use a 4 pos instead of the 6. I went with the 6 , but , I dont use a couple of the tunes very often at all. So I can certainly see why he mentioned that. I dont have the AIC so I went with a high idle to take up some slack for the EBPV delete pedestal. I have bigger inj's and a bigger turbo so he put an economy tune on it for me. I am not sure if the motor can be tuned down from stock and get better mileage, but, if you go with a 6 pos I would look into it. I have a stock position on mine as well.

Here's a question: I had my PCM flashed by Jody to a 60 hp econo tune and also a manual trans PCM code. I am in the market for a chip. Probably going to get a cheaper used TS and send it to Cale at Tyrant. Do I need to have my PCM reflashed to a stock manual code or can the tuning of the chip account for that as well? I'm going to get a stock position for diagnostics etc. and want it to actually be stock when in that position.

I bet it would have to be reflashed back to stock redman. I put a stock position on mine for the same reason you mentioned. However, sometimes problems can be caused by the communication of the chip to the PCM. So regardless if its a direct match to stock or not just something else attached to the PCM could possibly keep you from being able to diagnose a problem accurately. Everybody I talk to reccomends pulling the chip to do diagnostics anyways. One reason is b/c removing the chip will eliminate the chances of it being the problem.

Anybody that tunes these things could answer the flash question. I have heard a lot good things about Cale. If he is the one that will be burning the chip I would take it to him for the answer.

Yeah, I've had some trouble getting ahold of Tony or Cale. I chalked it up to being holiday time. I guess I should try again. I really like Jody and he has never failed to respond soon but he is pretty specific about the products he tunes and I just don't have the money for all that. An inexpensive used chip and a good reburn is the most I can do now.

Send him an Email Jacob. I have had better luck getting people to respond that way than on the phone. Some of the tuners phones ring off the hook 24/7. So they try to avoid answering if they dont have a secretary or tech guy.
