Driver side door problem
My '95 F150 driver-side door doesn't seem to line up quite right with the door frame. It's a minor problem, really. There is a slight amount of vertical play in the door. When I get out and close the door, I lift the door a bit by the handle so it closes cleanly. If I don't lift, it closes, but I have to close it a bit harder to get it to latch. Like I said, it's not a big problem, but I don't want it to get any worse. Maybe there is away to shim the door just a bit to bring the latch back in line with the frame?

I believe the adjustment is at the "bolt" the door latches on. But if you have some play in the door I would look at changing out the hinges.

Sounds like a pin/bushing problem on the hinge might want to try replacing them if the door has up/down movement as described. You should be able to look at them and see that the pin is moving around a tad bit. James

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll check with a body shop first, as that might be the easiest way to go. I think this is a fairly common problem. If my memory serves me right, I think my '94 had the same problem, but I didn't do anything about it.

Seems to be very common.......My old 91 Explorer had the same problem, big time. I ended up shimming the hinges after multiple adgustments were made over the years.

Driver side door problem
I have had the same problem. All you need to do is replace the bushings and pins in the hinges on the door. You can get a pin and bushing kit at your local auto parts store. It should take about a good 30 to 45 minutes to change them and you should not have any more problems with your door, it will close just like it was new, well at least mine did anyway ha ha ha. What ever you do, do not adjust the striker until you replace the pins and bushings first. In most cases the striker doesn't need to be adjusted at all.
