Surging forward when starting
just wondering if anyone elses Expy surges forward when it starts. Mine does this sometimes when it is cold. It just feels as if two guys gave the rear bumped a good shove.

Mark Kovalsky is on here usually in the SuperDuty and transmission forums I think. He's a transmission engineer for Ford and says that what you're feeling is normal. It is caused by the friction of the oil between the clutches in the transmission. Essentially they "grab" a bit especially when cold and that's what you feel.
I knew that it was normal as I've seen that most trucks, especially with the 4R100 trans, do it , but I didnt have a good explanation until he explained it.
