I in particularly like glasspacks with the echotips, my 75 360 sounds awesome as does my 73 302 without echotips, I am just of the opinion that old technology works well with old technology, and it sounds great, I like flowmasters on newer trucks better though, just my 2 cents
I just put a delta 40 on my 75 250 with a 390, very mild engine ( 428 heads, edelbrock intake). 3 inch all the way out to the stock exit. Sounds great, doesn't resonate in the cab. Has a nice solid tone. Truck is also a supercab longbed so that probably explains the lack of resonance.
Here's my nickel:....I stay away from glasspacks simply because they have fiberglass in them. It degrades over time because of particulate matter, age, and vibration. Those race bullets have ceramic packing so your call.
I have the SS Dynomax mufflers, idle sound is good, going down the highway is good, if you get into it and wind it up they sound like glass packs which i do not like.
I'm running the 3" in/out 4"x16" Dynomax bullets. I really like the sound. Mine is not much for comparison sake though as it's far from stock. The longer the muff the more of a rumble and less of a crack it has which is why I got the 16" instead of the 12". I'd go with the 2.5" over 2.25" and get the 18" version. My 2cents.
I have the 2.5" short race bullets on mine. Dual out of the headers and out before the rear tire good sound and gets snappy around 2 grand. Sounds sweet
at very low rpm (idle and just off idle) there is "the big block drone" but once you are rolling you dont even hear it. i have driven through town with the windows down and heard it echo off of buildings, so i think it is fairly loud outside, but from the cab it is actually rather quiet.
Mine is a single outlet behind the axle, with a single glasspack. looks to be about a 4" diameter body GP and rather short and completely blown out, i'd guess.
I'm a fan of any straight through design. dynomax ultra flows, xcelerator (goerlich), glass packs .... i like 'em all
I've got thrush welded chamber mufflers on my chevy plow truck, and i'm surprised how mellow those are in the cab. once again, fairly loud outside, but not bad in the cab. If someone likes the flowmaster sound, the thrush welded's should make you pretty happy. look to be fairly well built (i hope, cauz i'm not putting fixing it if they crap out)

I have headers, 3 inch pipe, and 18 inch long glasspacks. Depending on how far down you push the gas pedal there is a nice rumble or ear splitting loud. Can be heard about 2 miles away if really romping on it.
