D-P Tuner installed Boost?

Just installed my new D-P Tuner F5.
Very happy so far. Was wondering what kind of boost I should see?
Stock tune I saw 12-13psi
120 HP race tune I see 16psi up hill under load.
Is this about max boost with a stock turbo?
I have 4 inch exhaust turbo back and a 6637 air filter.
What can I add for more boost?
Thanks

You should be able to make more boost than that. I have the same setup except I have a TS chip and in stock I can make 20 easy. In 100 HP I can overboost quickly if I'm not careful. Sounds like you may have a leak somewhere. Check your up pipes and IC boots.

X2. With my DP I see 20+psi no problem at altitude. I throw the SES on overboost routinely at sea level.

Check around your up pipes where they go into the Y collector at the back of the turbo, common place for them to leak, you will be able to see soot if they are leaking. Clean all of your IC boots then look and feel around them for holes or worn places. Also what kind of boost gauge are you using? When I was using an Edge Evolution programmer I would have to try real hard to see 20 PSI boost on the Edge gauge reading through the OBD II port. I hooked up a mechanical boost gauge and it would show anywhere from 5-10 PSI higher than the Edge did. I got rid of the Edge, installed a TS chip and mechanical gauges and I like it alot better!

The driver side up pipe does have a small leak at the turbo collector. Don't know if it's enough to cause low boost. The CAC tubes are ok. I am running an autometer boost gauge teed into the MAP line. Ford's spec is 12 psi.
I guess i'll replace both up pipes and see what happens.

Both of my up pipes are leaking a little at the y collector so I don't really think your small leak would make that much difference but I could be wrong. My boost line is tied into the map line too.

It sounds like you may have a leak. Your boost numbers sound a little low. Before I got my 38r with my DP set to 80e I was able to get 28 pounds of boost. I believe I may have had my wastegate unpluged at the time butt can't remember for sure. Gota love that Dp tuner. congratulations!

My early 99 gets 18 lbs in stock tune and 22.5 in 60e and up with stock turbo. And I have autometer guages also. You must have a leak. I just pulled my up pipes and the dirvers side slid right out. But both sides had leaks I couldn't see till I removed them.

I'm with him. DP F6 w/60e and I shoot to 20, with a buildup to 26. Everything between the block and the turbo collector was replaced a few months ago (mans & ups) and had the pedestal/turbo seals replaced. I had huge leaks before. My 60e spins the wheels from a dead stop under the right conditions (wet pavement doesn't count). I loved it when my wife rode in it the first time since the repairs/upgrades: She said something along the lines of "Oh my gawd, that put me back in my seat!"

on the 120 tune, I can pull up to 32psi's on my Van and I don't have an intercooler. I also have the ennialator installed so i don't get the over boost check engine light and everything shuts down for a few seconds syndrome.

First I have the early 99. I just took them apart two days ago. So that was the boost with up pipes as bad as they were. I had know idea that they were leaking, no noise or anything. I order up pipes, Bellow, from Clay yesterday. They should be here Monday. I am up dating to late 99 with the late turbo so When done next week I'll let you know. I'm also putting on 1.0 exhaust housing so it will be a little different.

I was just thinking your boost numbers were pretty good for having leaks... I will be interested on the new numbers once you get it up and running...
