Before I sold my rig I had my SCT and insight to scan DTC's. Now that my search is on for a new rig I want a handheld code reader to help me verify condition and read codes while shopping .... What are y'all using or recommend for OBD2 scanners ?
Not 6.0 related but y'all got the best intel out there.....
I would check out the scanguage2 you can grab it from any autozone, then when you plan on looking at a particular vehicle, let say a slow Chevy, or a rattling dodge you can pre-program it prior to going to look at it with the x-gauges and see manufacturer specific things by loading the codes from their website
Isn't the consensus that while they are great monitoring tools they aren't such great code readers ?
I guess it all depends on what you are looking at, but what other code reader is better, and what is your price range, I am willing to bet the innova I have is on par with the scan gauge capabilities but I could be wrong, I have a scangauge 2, innova/craftsman, and I also have the AE, by far the AE is by far the best one, but it is also 300-400 for the ford enhanced, plus you have to purchase the manufacturer specific unlock codes to get other manufacturers all in all would end up costing $1400. So I guess it depends on your price point too.
For the AE domestic bundle it is $800. Just know that if you buy a foreign truck you will be banished from FTE.
Haha.... Not a chance in hail of me buying a foriegn truck.... We built some MONSTER YOTA's back in the day (that 22RE) motor is prolly one of the most reliable motors I've ever owned but I've grown up (and out) a little since then so they are a thing of the past....
What I'll most likely end up with is an 05 or better 150 FX4.... just gotta find the right one
Didn't realize craftsman sold one ... I like Sears' customer service so may have to look at them ?

Yeah, they are really repackaged innovas, but I also love sears, my father was laughing every tool in my garage is craftsman, tool box ,hand tools creeper, jack. Jack stands, seat, air tools, air compressor, air reel, torque wrenches,I guess I have An addiction.
Yea Raptor .... In a former life I was a D9(tools and Lawn and Garden) sales manager for Sears..... 10 years worth and barely made a dime cause I spent it all
Thanks for the input , I bought a Innova Equus 3100 tonight.... Backlit key pad woulda been nice but $80 from WallyWorld was to good to pass on

My craftsman is able to do the ford koeo/koer tests so it does do something that the scangauge can't. I completely forgot about that. I love running the koer test and listening to the Vgt relax the vanes.
your radio is on the canbuss only because it uses speed controll volume. its really an acp interface.
also to note we wend from obdII to hs can a few years back. I dont see that changing again for awile. so far I dont belive its tramsit limits have been reaced yet.
