Is there any way the sensor could be faulty?
Have you confirmed the location of the sensor?
I wouldn't write the truck off yet, I'm sure there is a simple reason for your issues.
Have you tried it yet with the Edge?
How heavy is your Bobcat and trailer combo?

It ran like crap with the Edge in it.
Im running it empty and I can still get the guage up in the yellow very easily.
Bobcat and trailer are less than 8000#
The origional owner said his trailer weighed 16,000 # when he was fully loaded.
He said he just drove and used his guages , when it was going up he let off on the pedal until it came back down.
Must have been a slow trip to Florida or wherever he went............
Stock muffler is pretty restictive to. Need a straight threw type also. Just got mine back together but haven't put the EGT gauge back in yet. It was in the down pipe so I have to order a new probe for the exhaust manifold. Have to talk to Clay. JW said you gaine 50hp with out the stock muffler on his dino, I don't believe that but it has to help. The plenums are much larger on the late model also. More air has to help.
What about the wastegatye not working right?
Would that cause my problems?
Thanks for all the things you have suggested but theres no way I could do all of them ,
so where should I start?
I crawled very slowly up the hill coming home with the Bobcat yesterday.
Lots of power but the guage kept going over to red so Id let off the throttle and
let the guage come down.
Every time I let off Id lose speed until I was just crawling near the top.
Put it and keep it on your stock tune till you get a real tuner. If you remove the Edge Evolutio tuner you'll be on your stock PCM tune and you can't hurt the motor then.

I dont have the Edge in it.
Its got a Superchips in it.

I'm a newb still, so I don't have advice. I do have experiences and an AE, so I can share observations that might help with figuring this out.
Canned tuners dump fuel for more power, plain and simple (higher EGTs and smoke).
Custom tunes dial the fuel more strategically, plus they change the shifting strategies with more power and lower EGTs/less smoke as the goal.
Stock exhaust is just OK without a tuner, but it has a lot of backpressure when tuned (higher EGTs again)
The stock backpressure is worse at the higher RPMs (higher EGTs), and lugging under load raises the EGTs as well. You are in a Catch-22
I don't know if you're auto or manual, but towing on a hill under TCLU speed with an auto will simply eat the tranny in a single sitting. I've done it.
I'm getting ready to do the muffler delete as an interim measure before I go full 4" from turbo-back - but I don't tow heavy (yet). My mods in my sig all have links, but I am still stock post-turbo exhaust. Here is a performance graph I made with no load and the Exhaust Back Pressure is the main thing to focus on.
When it comes time to tow, I have the 80Tow tune for the sailboat (about 3500 pounds) and the 40Tow tune for the bigger boat I'll be buying later.
Tq conv lock up. Custom tuning changes many peramiters rather than fooling some. Custom tuning changes timing,Icp pressures, fuel, trans, and I'm sure many others. Canned tuning adds fuel and fools sensors into thinking its all ok. My 2c.
Thats another thing , its a built up BD Torque Loc tranny.
How are "custom tunes" going to know what to tell it about shifting?
Whats TCLU?
I have an HD4R100 and my first delivery of tunes about gave me whiplash across the board. I had to run in stock mode until I could work with James and Jody to email me the new tunes for my F6. Everything is dialed for the HD4R100 now and my transmission temps are crazy low.
Many people use "TQLU" but I just use the acronym for Torque Converter Lock Up... my quirk.
I forgot, what kind of exhaust do you have? A chip with stock ex will make egts high. Intake also.
I straight piped my Ex and put a 6637 on it and egts dropped dramatically.

Ive got factory exhaust but I took out the Cat.
I dont think this truck would even pull my travel trailer down the highway
and keep up to speed without running into the red on my pyrometer..
My Torq-Loc button has 3 positions Im not sure Im using it right either.
