Low temperature problem.

I ended up leaving the cap off over night and was able to top it off in the morning. I found another radiator cap and tried it for the fun of it. So far, I haven't noticed and strange gauge activity. IO also cleaned the connection at the gauge sender. I hope it's ok. My heat was always good though which is what still bugs me. It must be a gauge problem

The thermostats they sell these days are crap at best. On my truck the guage never goes above o on the normal,EXCEPT after installation of a stat brand thermostat.Temp would read all over. I went to dealer and got a thermostat and it never did it again.

My check engine light came on. I used a code reader and it shows "low coolant temperature" DUH!. I guess swapping out the thermosta is nex eventhough it only had about 150 miles on it when the CEL came on. My 92 F150 5.0 only has 47,000 miles on it. Verified. I'm the second owner.
