Anyone have the little dowel pin fall out of the upper ignition actuator? My truck would start but not turn off. I was expecting to have one of the two plastic parts broken, but when I got the steering column apart all I found was that the little dowel pin fell out.
I've glued it back in an hopefully it will go another 202K before breaking again.
Heres a video I took of it and put on photobucket. Hope it helps a little more than a picture lol. Click on the picture and it will take you to the video.
Thats what it looks like inside there rob. It does have a lil pin in there. If yours fell out i would say you could find the right size roll pin to go in there. Or if that plastic piece is broke i can take it out and send it to you. Let me know what you need.

Wow, thats where the problem lies, for sure. I will pull it apart when i have some time and see exactly whats going on. I put it back together and just left the swith hanging down below the dash. Makes me want a push start even more lol!
How hard was it to get into the plastic pieces? It looks to me you have to remove a ton of stuff to get at it.

The hardest part was getting the snap ring off the shaft with no snap ring pliers. There are two star bolts on the side, and you have to ajust the tilt and pull the coulom apart at the same time. Make sure you turn your key at the same time to. The plastic piece has gears on it and runs on the key cyl.
