Converting a Manual Trans. to Auto..

Hey,

Has anyone ever converted a Manual transmission to an Automatic in a Ranger. I was thinking about going to the salvage yard and look for parts. Does the whole steering column have to be changed to put the shifter on? I don't want to get rid of my 95 Ranger, I just want an automatic so I just wanted some comments on how difficult it would me...or if it would be worth the time and money?
