Well today I installed the hose clamp on the tailgate and used the screwdriver and hammer to roll it in a way it would be very hard to get it off. Ordered my gorilla lug locks and incase you need some the part number is 78641F. Then finished off the day by visiting the Jimmy Jammer store for all 4 doors and tailgate. Next week they will be painting another rear left door handle for replace the front one to remove the key hole. Hopefully if they want in that bad they break the window its cheaper to fix and they wont mess up the pearl paint!
I gather from your thread someone tried to break in your vehicle to get something or even steal the whole truck? Or you are being proactive? Nothing ever happens in our nieghborhood here much less someone trying to take a truck. In Oklahoma someone stole my 72 f250, ran out of gas and didnt think to switch the lever to the other tank. Got a mile from my house. Police said 14 vehicles stolen that night, all Ford trucks. Waiting auto carrier takes them across into mexico where they are parted out. Insane.

Reason: Spell Check inop
While you certainly would make things harder, none of your efforts today would stop a determined crook. It seems that you acknowledge that though, so I have to ask why the effort?
Did someone break into it before? A previous truck?
You guys wouldn't believe it but the truck I traded for the new 2012 I got to watch get broke into while fishing from a kayak. 400 yards is to far to get a shot off with a .40 cal pistol other wise he wouldn't do it again. Only had this truck a week and nothing tried yet but here in Houston they are everywhere looking for a quick grab! I am aware it won't stop the window busting but would rather that then the paint. A guy I work with they stole his tailgate one night in a matter of seconds. I just get very ticked that I work my but off to afford nice things and some jack off just takes it. I want it to be as hard as possible and hope they will move on to someone else.
I looked all over for Gorilla Locks when I got my truck and even though they said they fit, they were the wrong nuts for my wheels. I even called Gorilla and they said they did not make them for the '11 F-250 so I had to buy a Ford proprietary set from Ford at about 6X the price.
Is locking your tailgate not enough? I realize your not crazy, crazy, if some moron wants something bad enough they will take it or at least muff it up. I always kept my '05 t-gate locked to help from theft, now with a camera built in even more tempting for theives! I am very interested in any ideas on this!
Keepp it locked and pray they don't take it! They punch the locks on them just like they do your doors. Just sucks you spend this kinda money for nice stuff and they still get it. I can post pic of the tail gate hose clamp if needed. I used a 2" clamp by the way. The beat it around with a screwdriver and hammer and it will take them forever to get it.

Good Job BudLight. We all deal with different types of crooks depending on what part of the US that we live in. There are so many Ford trucks down here in Texas that if they see that you don't have a key hole they will just move on to the next truck.
How much are they charging you to paint the door handle? My dealership quoted 100 bucks.
A distant cousin of mine got his 6.4L stolen from the parking lot of the bass pro shop near San Antonio with his gooseneck cattle trailer that was loaded with high dollar fencing supplys, fourwheelers, and gates. He was heading to his ranch to go hunting. His truck was loaded with guns and his dog. He got his dog back after a highly publicized reward was offered.
I love to make it hard for the bad guys and I hope the chip in the key helps.
I'm from San Antonio and read about that in the paper. I do think it was around a major holiday when it happened b/c I saw him on the news when he got his dog back! He was very thankful!
