Also the T-98 covers a whole range of vehicles - Just giving the information that you gave isn't enough to go on - Kinda like "A guy gave me a horse, what kind is it?"

I had no question about the bellhousing i know what it is i was just including the info that i got one with it . there were alot of different cases and gear ratios for the transmission and i want to know how to tell what mine is with the case numbers i provided so i can put the correct gears back in it and if it is a jeep case i am not putting it back into my ford.

CPR51FRD, it would probably help if you would describe main drive, spline count, length diameter, main drive housing diameter, etc. Also, how about the output, parking brake attachment, driveshaft attachment, etc. Give some further information and perhaps someone will have some ideas. I believe the T98 is the basic tranny that came in several configurations as you have figured out.

and the next question, do you have all the clutch pieces in your truck already - see if you have 1 3/8" 10 spline clutch disc and your T98 is not the same 1 3/8" 10 spline then you have to get a newer clutch disc. Do you have a bellhousing on the engine, one on the trans, is it the split with the big 5" hogshead (the big truck hogshead)...

Truth is, the numbers you posted are casting numbers for the case and don't identify what or where it was used.
The stuff Ray asked you for will be a big help in sorting it out.

The T98 came in a lot of vehicles - Bryan up above (Brain75) has been writing a huge piece on transmissions - look through his posts. Good luck over there. Tell us a bit about your truck project.
