No i havent wiped it out (in case i needed it for diagnosis) but it was there when i purchased & i havent noticed it accumulating any more.
No oil residue that i can tell, ill wipe it out & see if any comes back. Seems that most vehicles w/these bottles have that build-up under them (at this point the bottle isnt concerning me much).
Although that "frothing" @ manifolds is driving me nuts
Can i test that buildup under cap somehow

P.S....I sucked coolant level down to the middle of Min/Max lines

Suck out a little more..... should be at the MIN line. But I doubt if where you have it will hurt anything.

OK. How long have you had this truck and is it possible it's had an oil cooler put in? I'm wondering if you don't have some leftover gook from past repairs.

I just bought it in October & i was thinkin the same cause the EGR looks brand new, the coolant tank was overfull, my ECT/EOT temps range only about a 4-8 deg spread & engine is exceptionaly clean

Note: I will pull coolant level down a bit more soon to MIN line then

Thought id add something here....
Yesterday morning i started it up & wiped as much of that "froth" i could on my fingers & it looks as if its plain water (condensation) so i got curious & tasted it (yes i tasted it) & it had no taste at all like plain water.
Since i now know what Fords Gold coolant tastes like (Dont Ask..lol) this did NOT taste at all like coolant.
So unless someone has some Info here iam goin to assume its just condensation & try to not worry about it, the 1 thing that does annoy me is that damn Leak i hear (but cant feel anywhere) iam assuming its coming from the Manifolds though since its "frothing" there.
Did condensation in my manifolds Warp them & cause a leak
If i pull those manifolds & change gaskets will it just do it again

Another spot to ceck for leaks is the up pipes at the flex joints if you can see them. Mne were cracked at the flex part and were leaking. Someimes you will get a diesel smell in the cab..mine didnt cause a smell.

I wouldnt worry too much about the froth on the manifolds. Mine did that just like yours, the dealer installed manifold gaskets and it cured it. Most of the 6.0's didnt come with manifold gaskets and the is a TSB on installing gaskets if the customer complains of a leak.

The "frothing" process is....Start engine, 20-30 seconds there is "plain water" dropplets (condensation) forming around manifolds, appx 30 sec later its starts "frothing" & a minute or so later the manifolds hot enough that its all evaporated & youll never see any thing again till the next cold start.

If you imediately wipe it off it comes back but like i said after that minute or so youll never see it again.
All the bolts are there & since its a Florida truck iam praying they all come out easy.
As far as "taste" it aint no Chocolate Forsty

Yeap i checked those (grabbed them w/my hands after 1st startin motor) & i felt nothing.
That "NO Gaskets" theory makes sense because i cant see any evidence of a gasket & was wondering if they came w/any. I called Napa & they can get me some for $45 so i think ill go that route & hope for the best

Another question i have is....Because the Turbo's pullin exhaust through manifolds, is that why i cant feel the leak w/my hand (you can easily feel a leak on a Gas'r)
I do see some "black streakin" on the Heads @ the manifolds so that has to be leak, it just pisses me off i cant feel it

Iam glad that someone else has seen this & there was NO problems assoicated w/it.....because i havent got much response from you guys & i was thinkin that u all thought i was Crazy

Ordered exhaust manifold gaskets from the Ford Dealer ($26) iam going to change them, actually add them....lol

Is there any thing i should know before i pull the manifolds off
Hopefully i can just un-bolt manifolds from the cyclinder heads & slip these in place w/out un-bolting anything else, since they dont have any from factory to remove...
What do u guys think & what do i re-torque manifold bolts to

When I did mine I bought new manifold bolts they were cheap and the old bolts have the change of breaking off due to years of heat. Also use anti seize on the bolts.

Hey Buddy, I was looking through the TSB section and came across one that describes your problem. Good news is it sounds like your corrective action is what Ford recommends also, but it also says that the bubbling during warm-up is normal. Just thought I would pass it on to ya. TSB copied and pasted below.

Matt

ISSUE:

Some vehicles equipped with a 6.0L engine may exhibit a diesel odor in the cab.

It may be necessary to replace the exhaust manifold gasket. Refer to the following Service Procedure.

I got mine from the dealer I'm sure you could go to the hardware store but remember different bolts& grades react differently to heat. I almost got the bolts in stainless but wasent sure if it would cause issues later down the road
