ok, so i have this horrible leak on my fuel line where the ford connector slides into the fuel rail, not sure if its the line or connector, so im going to go ahead and replace the whole line from the motor to the frame. im not sure how to go about this though, i have braided line on my truck and im not much of a fan of the braided over nylon. i was going to get the two ford connectors with the barbed nylon fittings, some nylone line and just pull the old line, and intall the new one im going to make.
Heres my problem. theres two different size fittings on the advanced auto website, and the store does not carry the part in stock to compare. and the fittings are nearly 10$ a piece... anyone have an idea of the fitting size of a 95 5.0? OR... if anyone has an idea that can keep me away from these stupid ford fittings and something more along the lines of a pressure fitting, that would be great... or heck, just some other type of fitting that will work. i wanna know how you all have done fuel lines...
i dont think its an 0ring, not sure yet... and its the line ging from the frame to the motor, pretty sure 5/16 on both ends... but the fittings at advance are in millimeters... look at the website..
I dont know what size the steel line is on the fuel rail and the steel line on the frame rail... this has got me pretty confused... you can look at the two different measurements and tell that there is a pretty good difference between the two...
its a 95 with a 5.0... one fitting is a 11mm and the other is a 14mm... ive got both the fittings sitting at advanced, just trying to figure out which one i need without having to disconnect my old one and trying one or the other of the new ones... and my old line be completely shot before i can get it home...
and do i HAVE to use the nylon fuel line or can i use the rubber injection line? i dont like this nylon line... too flimsy it seems...
