I have a 7 day old 250 mile 2012 f250 and suddenly there is aburning smell in the cab and around the engine and the boost guage is sitting on zero even if I rev the engine. Did I lose my turbo? Belt ? Is it safe to drive to the dealership in the morning? I am new to these trucks and dont want to tear something else up. Hopefully this is a minor issue and will be a quick fix. Thanks for any feedback.
Rubber burning and no boost is most likely some tubing/duct in the intake system, likely around the intercooler. Unless the turbo itself blew up, which would likely be making some unfriendly noises.
When you say no boost, you literaly mean 0 boost, or just not much?
The guage is lying all the way to the left and doesnt move. I drove about 10 miles home a few hours ago and noticed my instant mileage seemed to be lower but the truck ran fine. Then i noticed the smell and lack of boost.

It could be caused by a number of different things, and as you're still under warranty it's best to have diagnosed by the dealer. If your dealer isn't far away you could drive it in as long as it doesn't smell like exhaust, but if it's more than a few miles I would recommend having it towed in. Call the roadside assistance number that came with your owner's guide and they will pay for the tow.
Please keep us updated, I'm curious to see what's causing your problem.
My dealership is about 8 miles from my house. Im gonna be there at 7 when they open. I hope this is not a sign of whats to come. Ive heard great stuff about these trucks. Thanks to all and Ill post a follow up when i get some answers.

Anything can happen, problems do occur, these trucks are great. What you have is an isolated issue so we don't need to go and say ford diesels are junk (I know you are not saying that). A bad part or a software glitch is hopefully the answer. Congrats on the new truck, everything will b ok!
Turns out gsxr1300 nailed it. And apparently i dont understand how and when turbo boost occurs. My 12 mile drive to the dealership was uneventful this morning, no smell, plenty of boost, and good fuel mileage. Upon arrival I had reached 263 miles on the motor. A number that became important when the tech said i should have had an exhaust cleaning at 250 miles which was about the time i noticed he smell. Which would also explain the poor fuel mileage during the trip home. I also retraced my path and noticed no boost on the mostly downhill last mile of my trip home. So to sum up, i beleve my truck is fine, I am an idiot, and the exhaust cleaning smells really bad. On a side note my power sliding rear window was actually not working so the tech ordered a new motor for it today which made the trip actually necessary. Thanks for all the feedback. I will try not to panic again for at least a few weeks.
No worries, Sheepdog. Glad you got it figured out!
I think we all do that when we buy a new vehicle... I know I do at least, and the dealer I buy from normally gets tired of seeing me within a year. If you want some reading on what my issue like this was check out the "strange whining noise" thread I started over a year ago. I hounded them until they replaced the turbo for something that turned out to be a typical noise! Whoops...
Well...that's what you get for being the guinea pig. All of the time you "wasted" at the dealer has probably saved Ford 10x with the information provided here.
I exited the freeway last week just as a regen was completing and as I stopped at the light, there was visible smoke coming from under the truck. This is where the freaking out reference comes into play. All kinds of catastrophic HPFP and disintegrating valve scenarios went through my mind but I eventually figured out the cause. The labels on my new exhaust parts were burning away on the hot pipes. 10 seconds never lasted so long...
One day I backed up in my driveway as a regen started, I decided to let it idle with the SEIC high idle mode enabled, this bucket was about 2 ft from the tailpipe. Didn't realize the bucket was there till I saw this...
