Was your P1406 resolved?

The most common problem when getting a P1406 is the DPFE located on the drivers side of the engine.

But, I'm getting a P1406 and it's not caused by the DPFE so I was wondering if you might have found what was causing yours.

That has nothing to do with it.

I actually think it might be just what the code says, a plugged downstream line. There is an orifice in the Manifold to EGR Intake Tube Assy that allows a certain amount of exhaust gas to be vaccumed into the EGR assy. If that corrodes or gets plugged, you will throw a code since the differential pressure becomes too high on exhaust side. The nut / bolt at the exhaust manifold is pretty corroded. Looks like it will fall apart if I put a wrench on it. Can't find an online price for that tube (item 10 in some engine exploded views) so I just asked a parts person (my son) today for the pricing. I need the van to pull a trailer so I don't want to touch it unless I have a replacement available.
