351W fitment/compatibility Question

I have a 1993 Ford 250 with a 5.8L 351 efi. I have an extra block from what I believe is a 1983 351w according to the stamping. Will it be possible to build this motor up, add an efi intake and use it in the 1993 truck? Are the mounting points the same for all the 351w's or are the blocks different?

They are the same block so you can use the 83 to build.

Everything's the same cept for the heads. The 93's got better heads with smaller combustion chambers. The 93's likely got a better cam grind too.

The 351 block has never changed externally except when of the mechanical clutch boss was deleted sometime in the '80(I believe) and this won't affect your build. If you're doing a buildup there are better options than any of the stock cams as well.. the Crane 444232 for example is one that produces significant power gains and cooperates perfectly with the SD EFI system.
