Question Tire size?

Hey guys,

Gonna get rid of the no traction Michelins and am wondering what you guys have used and/or recommend.

Am thinking about Wrangler 305 60R20s. 1 inch extra tread width and just barely larger tire diameter. 604 rpm vs 610 rpm.

thanks!

jammer

Also looking at some 325 16X20's that are load range 'e'.

585 rpm 295/65 r20s is the largest I could find. Nitto trail grappler mt's Great off road and on road they ride a little like a snowboard. I'm sure they will get better after they wear down a bit. I hope this helps.

I live in an old part of town with old school square curbs. Also its a narrow street and i'd rather rub the curb than get side swiped at night.

I need to move.

Gotcha. Might have to be careful with new tires, would hate to tear up the sidecutters.

Are you talking about the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armour? I had the Goodyear Wranglers Silent Armour and they did well in the snow. But I don't think they were any better than the Michelins. The LT305/60R20 are a 65psi tire, So you will be giving up several hundred pounds of load per tire. If you carry much of a load, such as large gooseneck or 5ver trailers. Probably not a good choice.

I had the 18" tires on my 2006 truck. They were plus sized and were 80psi tires. But I still had problems with them bulging on the sidewalls when I towed a lot. The tires ran great. Just didn't like carrying a heavy load. I had several end up looking like this

Goodyear does not offer a tread wear warranty. At least Michelin does. So if your tires don't last the 60,000 miles they will pro-rate your replacement cost.

If you run around empty. The Goodyears will probably be just fine. But if you load your truck. I would especially stay away from any 65 psi tires.

The BFG All Terrains are a good tire. They have held up really good on past trucks and my daily curb check. These 20" tires are a totaly different animal compared to 16s that I'm used to.

I'm thinking about taking a side grinder to the curb and rounding it a bit.
