Engine Coolant Temp

I installed a ScanGauge II a week ago and after a 30 mile drive the ECT would not get above 165* Outside air temp at 40*F I'am using the X-Gauge code below, correct me please if this is wrong.

C410F1221139 TXD
046205110639 RXF
3008 RXD
00010002007F MTH

Also what Engine oil temps are you ScanGauge users seeing?

Thanks to all & Happy New Year

I don't no squat about the Scangauge but your oil temp should be within + or - a few degrees of your coolant temp. Mine is. Think oil cooler. Coolant circulates around the oil cooler core.

I know the ae gives faulty engine coolant temp readings. I don't think the coolant sensor works as far as an actual gauge but as reference. My oil temp ranges from 185-210 if I'm pulling.

AE reads my coolant temp within a couple of degrees of my aftermarket coolant temp gauge. Maybe you have a bad coolant temp sensor.

I just got the Scangauge too and my ECT shows 15-20 cooler than the oil temp, 165* for coolant and 182* for oil on an easy drive (32f ambient).

Are these numbers accurate?

This post is for the scan gauge I linked and it says the gauge can't monitor ect since the PCM doesn't monitor coolant temps. Wouldn't this be the same as the AE. Scan gauge seems to offer a probe to install to use along with the gauge though. Not arguing the point just trying to clear up what I've seen on my AE. I've seen the coolant in the 350deg range but the gauge be sitting in the norm.

I agree David. for some reason the engine coolant temp doesn't read on the handshakers. I get some stupid coolant temps of 300+. Talked with PHP and Bill said the PCM doesn't monitor ECT on manuals. I can unplug the ECT and nothing changes.

I have the Edge Insight monitor and it will only monitor the EOT and the TFT - no coolant temperature.
My EOT runs between 185 - 200 without towing after it has warmed up real good.
My TFT will run around 165 without towing. I have a rebuilt tranny with a triple clutch and some other upgrades, etc.
I do not see why you could not monitor coolant temps since there is a coolant 'switch' to show if it is running hot. I'm sure it was a decision by Ford to install a coolant sensor, but not have the PCM or whatever set up for it to be monitored by diagnostic equipment.
Oh well, life is still good.
