intercooler pipe? up pipe?

Should the intercooler pipe have oil in it? If not y might it?

Is it common that both up pipes from each manifold get exhaust leaks along with the y pipe into turbo? I know one or more of them are leaking and read how to change one on passenger side witch I have and ready to install and plan on plugging entrance to egr cooler is this a good idea? The pipe on the driver side looks like pita any suggestions or links on how to do it?
Other mods going pretty good thanks to you all help ! Pyro installed along with gauges and wiring for fuel pressure gauge. Also high idle mod . Have to wait to test everything on wed when I can get fuel filter housing to reinstall ! (:
Banks monster exhaust also due to show up so plenty to do yet for a while that is reason for questions on exhaust might as well do all at same time . Ok enough rambling any suggestion or help is greatly appreciated THANKS

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL !!

You will have some amount of oil in the intercooler pipes due to the fact that Ford vents the crankcase in the air inlet at the front of the turbo thus the turbo blowing that oil into the intercooler tubes. The blue boots (hoses) that connect the turbo to the intercooler tube tend to soak up this oil and crack. Alot of people reroute the crankcase vent to underneath the truck (do a search for the ccv mod). Hope this helps.

I had two holes in drivers side pipe they seem to be the worst ones for leaks. Had a crack in the rippled looking piece and the stainless flex piece where it mates to the hard pipe. Yes it is a PITA and turbo needs to come out but doable.

Seriously turbo has.to come out?! Well if I decide to go that far guess I should figure out how to clean and.check turbo.

The turbo is the easy part of that fix.

Oh i guess if you didn't want to pull the turbo then you could just pull the CAB then it would be really simple to do .

Ok so while in there i might as well do everything needed just wish i would not have cracked the filter housing so i could have tested the pyro and fuel pressure gauge before working on exhaust but should be easier to do the work with all that out of there !

Everything going well so far about to loosen turbo and pull out and see what all pipes i need!

Anyone have part numbers for the drivers side up pipes and the y pipe, also updated oil drain? how can i tell if the drain was already updated or not? Any thing else i might need or should do while doing this ?

Oil drain
y-pipe
up-pipe
gaskit kit for turbo
filter housing

While turbo is out should i take it apart for a look and possible clean it? is it a highly technical job or might i be able to do it by following tech folder directions?
Do i need any gasket kits for the filter housing? i have a bunch of o rings from the blue spring upgrade.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!

The only thing you MIGHT have to have is the gasket for the oil feed line to the turbo IF you tear it taking that line off. Everything else has a reusable gasket. Cleaning the turbo is easily accomplished with the directions/links provided in the tech folder. No gaskets for that. AFA the turbo oil lines......I've never upgraded mine and personally see no reason to unless the supply fails internally.

Just did my up pipe and pulling the turbo is a walk in the park compared to changing that thing. Had to sit down half way through and pour myself a drink and calm down before something went through the shop wall or the truck window. If they could have just rotated the up pipe to y pipe bolts slightly, it wouldn't be that bad.
Just dug out my reciept and here's some numbers
5C3Z-6K854-AA adapter N10 $139.78
6E7Z-9C082-A Kit Z 00 $27.73
3C3Z-6N640 Gasket N 10 $5.10
YF-3249 Clamp N07 $43.76

First one is the up pipe. These prices are CDN, you will pay considerably less.

That would be awesome and thanks for the offer but I'm guessing that is the on for passenger side and if it is I have that one laying here! I suppose I could return but suppose the have big restocking fee!

I was thinking of welding plug in it to cut off egr cooler is that a good idea or should I just wait and do a delete some time?!

Thanks for the part numbers! I assume those will work for my 03?

UPDATE: Everything is out and went better than expected! Turbo wasn't near as bad coming out as some make it sound! Up pipe and y pipe out along with the rest of exhaust ready for banks exhaust to show up wed and rest of parts from tousley on Fri.
Is there any need to try and put the heat shield back on the up pipe and also down pipe ? Not sure if down pipe will come with any on it or not.
Any thing else I should do back there while turbo is out? Sensors etc. Seem to have slight oil leak back there somewhere.

Oh ya AE software also ordered from riffraff !! Be able to read codes once all back together !
