My Local parts house insists that agsf32fm's (motorcraft) are the correct platnum plug for my expedition (4.6) But my manual says to use awsf32pp's I called a couple ford dealers up and they couldnt tell me what the designation # I have is for. Is this plug that I have a cross to the awsf32pp. Before I spend half a day changing plugs and wires I would like to ease my mind that these are ok to install. Perhaps RACERGUY could enlighten me. Thanks !
Why wouldn't you pay the small extra fee to purchase the plugs from the dealer, and receive actual factory OEM parts? If you discuss the situation nicely with the parts counter you can be sure you are getting the double-platinum plugs at a reasonable price. I think they were only $6 or so. What's $50 for 100,000 miles?
I ran into this at work last week. The parts guys told me that the PPs changed up to the FMs.
I think he said something about the FMs had a nickel shell on them or something. I was in a hurry so I didnt pay much attention
Before you actually install them compare them side to side and make sure the reach etc is the same.
Chipster, my wife has a freind that work at a parts distributor that supplies dealers . I asked for motocraft plugs and wires and I got them for Free. I was only looking for a discount
Great connection for parts! The guys at my shop tell me that you can drop plugs into the heads and start them easily without fear of cross-threading...I have not yet tried this. I have a few thousand miles to go before taking the plunge.
