I'm in Round Rock, just north of Austin since we're listing.
This kinda gave me an idea....has anyone ever organized a small "build party"? I think 4 or 5 guys together, a full days work, could advance someone's project by months if not more. I guess you could do it Habitat for Humanity style, with the entire group moving from truck to truck until everyone got a turn with the workforce....just a thought
I was just going to bribe Sam and Ben with cold beverages and all the delicious smoked brisket they could put away, just so long as I get to ask alot dumb questions while they eat.
Welcome aboard! You know I've lived in Texas forever but I definitely don't know all the counties. You made me go google map Tom Green County to see where it was - San Angelo ahhhh..
Put some pics up when you get a chance. I've got a 1950 F1 - Just got it back up & running today.
Fellow Texan here in beautiful downtown Cypress (houston). Welcome '49 F-1. You might want to start a new thread and introduce yourself. There's a lot of great guys here and a wealth of information. Wouldn't want anyone to miss the chance to welcome another member
I'm in Lewisville, Tx!
The truck is my daughters, but I'm helping her rebuilt it.
49 F-3
For Christmas, I bought her a Sawsall! We removed the old hacked up bumper that had a home made brush guard welded to it...
I also went to a junkyard in Decatur,TX to pull a bumper from an 49 F-1. (anyone need: hood/doors or original gas tank, or seat? The truck still had em! It's a 6-banger, and the engine is still in it! I can give ya directions!)
There are a few F-1's and a 53 F-4 sitting there. There are also a few later model 50's and lots of 60's pickups all over the place!
SFAllison,
You are killing me over here in Austin. You wouldn't believe the stuff we had to do to get our doors & hood looking good. I looked all over for some - & now there they are in Decatur... Ouch....
Welcome aboard! Post some pics of your daughter's truck - it sounds like fun.
