input needed on gear selection.

need a little help with selecting new gears for the diffs on my 2000 expy. i recently put 285 75 16 tires on and while the tires perform very well i can feel the difference in performance and gas mileage, i was wondering what gear ratios would be a good choice i would like to be able to get back to as close to the stock performance as possible.

Thi is not a cheap venture just so you know, and make sure you find a great mech that knows how to set gears. What ratio do you have now?

Also if you are going by numbers you see in a fuel computer, unless you adjusted your speedometer for the new tire size then it will be off. Get a gps and go for a ride and see how far it is off
