Hello, I have just found this site and I thought it would be a good place to seek some answers to a question that I have.
I just got a 1995 F-150 extra cab XLT. It has a cloth bench seat where the seat backs fold forward for access to the rear jump seats. I was wondering if you could swap out this bench seat for a different kind of seat? I have seen other seats where there is a center console and I think they recline??
Is it possible to swap out the bench I have for something like this?
If you have any insights please let me know and thanks in advance!
I took my bench seats out of my 91, and put buckets w/ a center console / jump seat out of a 97 in. It bolted right up, so I imagine the same thing would work in yours if you could find them in a junk yard or something.
I have this exact setup in my truck. It's aftermarket and soooo comfortable. The bad news it's exspesive. Mine was installed by a previous owner. Most any place selling truck accesories can get them. but the junkyard route is probably much better by way of price. I think the new aftermarket units go for 1200.00 or so. Better yet, find an aftermarket in the salvage yard. Gonna take some looking to find it though.
Go to salesco.com. They have many seats starting around $400. The bro put a unit in his 92 F150 from there with 2 buckets and a center seat/console. Really easy install: 4 bolts and 1/2 hour.
The 40/20/40 seat (and also captain's chairs) have 8 bolts. The bench, in a regular cab anyway, has only 4. I'd assume it's the same in a Supercab. You may have to drill the 4 center holes.
All the cabs are prepped for all the seat options, so it's a bolt-in. No drilling. You can get the seats from any '92-97 truck ('97 heavy trucks with the '96 body style) or Bronco.
