the front wheel ( 33 12.50 16.50) of my 1973 F 250 is robbing the fender and the lip when i hit a bump or turn the wheel when im backing up. can i lift the car by getting a different coil springs?
Well since he knows it has coil spring front end and is a F250 (8 lug) that tells me its a
2 wd. But I could be as wrong as ever?? And yea welcome to FTE.
And the answer is to me changing the coils is alot of work for just clearing some tires. You can adjust the steer stops and limit you turning radius, therefore not hitting the radius arms any more.
Sounds like maybe a different "off set" front rims rim might work, but if you put different coil springs is will raise the truck and change the caster/camber.
Look at that your truck tires do when you jack up the front end, top tips out right? Some 2 wd desert races guys should have the answers here on how to address this and not make it $$.
They sell those twist in alum or rubber coil spacers (waste of time and money IMO) or maybe some front inside the coil air bags $$ to lift it just a bit, to keep you outa the fender? But not enough to warrent a stay at the front end shop.
