Call me a dork, but I siphon out the HPOP res on an oil change. Yeah, I know it circulates with the lube oil, but that's just it; that's at least a quart of oil, and leaving it in would be like pouring a quart of old oil back into the crankcase following an oil change. And yeah, I know, that still leaves all the oil in the rails and such, but IMHO, the less old oil mixed in with the new, the better. (Remember the olden days when they recommended an oil filter change only every _other_ oil change? I always thought that was .) I just use one of those cheapo five-dollar Harbor Freight hand pump siphons; takes about two minutes.

But otherwise, yeah, that Bill guy is a hoot. Pro-long on your corn flakes?....

In short, no. But, some folks do like to get that last quart or so out when doing an oil change. I sometimes do that myself, especially if I went too long between changes. But it isn't a necessity. Bill (in the video) likes to make it out that the oil in the HPOP never gets out of that system. If that were true, it would get extremely hot very fast. Oil in the HPOP gets pumped up there from the low pressure oil pump that sends oil to the rest of the engine, runs through the heads to the injectors, then drains back into the oil pan. So, it gets changed every minute or so the engine is running. But if you want to get all the dirty oil out when doing an oil change, go ahead and siphon the oil out of the HPOP if you want.

The oil will take longer to get black if you do change it, that's for sure. But I usually don't do that.

To me the one qt. Doesn't matter cause you still have one qt. in each head one in the oil cooler and end in the pick up tube an oil pump for a total of around 4-5 qts. But to each his own I guess

x2, buy a oil bypass system and don't worry about it.
