Sending my chip in and was thinking about trying that tune out. I saw where people were saying its only for highway and not to be used as a DD. Can anyone comment on this?
Do you have gauges? Do you tow much? If yes to gauges and tow less than 5,000 lbs on a regular bases I'd try the 80 econo. This is just my experience that on my truck the shifts and pedal response are a whole lot nicer in 80 econo! Others may differ. Also I only noticed about a .01 increase in milage. It was such a small amount I don't remember which was better. Lol. What Tyne do you have now?
Also about what people were saying, did you catch what they said was the dd tune? That statement is rather bold and I find inaccurate. I think econo and tow are both good tunes to stay in, just one is easier on fuel than the other. Good luck with your decession! And remember, Jody will ask specifically what you intend to do with the truck and what would be your best options!
I just got mine back from Jody. It took me a year to send it back to get that down shift taken out. Lol. I originally sent it back to get the 80 tune and my down shift out. I got it back with just the downshift out and I'm not sending it back. Lol to answer your question. I keep mine in 60E all the time and love it.
i should have been more clear. i have the 40t 60t 80e 120r and 140e. im sending it back to get the 4th to 3rd shift not so hard get the decel and high idle and get rid of the 140 e. just wondering if i could get a little more mileage out of the 60e when im not towing. i can squeeze 17 to 18 with the 80 e if i stay under 65
