Twas the night (adapted)
Twas the night before Christmas and all through the truck
The fluids were frozen, the DEF pump was stuck.
The diesel was clouding and the turbo stone-cold
The weather was frightful if I may be so bold.
Out in the distance I heard a loud crash
I went to the window and threw up the sash.
"What was that?" I thought as my feet hit the floor.
No sooner than said came a knock at my door.
By now I'd forsaken the trek to my bed
For right on the porch was the Big Man in RED!
"I'm stuck!" He declared "can you give me a pull?"
Why sure I said, my tanks are all full.
I rushed to my truck while donning a cap
I opened the tool box and dug out my strap.
One move and the key was set with no strife
With a quick flick that six-seven came roaring to life!
No rattle nor roar from that powerful six-seven
No black smoke no NOx it was an environmentalists heaven.
The reindeer were nervous in awe of such might
But they knew that big Ford would be saving the night!
I pulled back the shifter and dropped her in gear
The T-case in low as I backed up quite near.
My end on hook and his on the sleigh
The slack was pulled tight as I backed away.
I heard him cry out "this sleigh is quite heavy”
I yelled back “you fat fool I’m not driving a Chevy”
I tipped in the boost and the four tires did spin
Then grabbed with the strength of the mighty truck I was in.
That mighty six seven was pulling so hard
Before I knew it I was into my neighbor's front yard.
I glanced back over and he gave a proud shout
"surely no Dodge could have pulled that sleigh out!"
He thanked me profusely and the reindeer did bow
To the victorious Ford that sat idling now.
For they knew in their hearts that without it's great might
There would have been no Christmas this magical night.
He climbed to his seat and with a wave of his hand
Those reindeer lurched forward across the snowed land.
I thank you again my dear and true friend
For your truck and your heart kept this night from its end.
And later this eve, back safe in my home
I'll be thanking the Lord that you’re driving a Ford.

I don't know if that will become a "classic" or not, but that was pretty awesome. Great job Herman and Merry Christmas to all.

It's a half assed attempt; however, as each of you read it, you should make an attempt to improve each verse and try to get it to better adhere to the original. Then, we can pull it back out next year for all to enjoy.
