I've been to a dealer and had a 2012 Ford F250 6.2 xcab 4x4 with options that totaled 37,085. They told me I could purchace this truck for $31,250 with the rebates included.
Is this price decent? Would the XPlan save me any more cash?
I think that $310,250 is way too much to pay for a SD... but thats just my opinion..
Or did you mean $31,250? lol... in that case, much better. but in order to give a yes or no answer, are we talking xl.. xlt... king ranch, etc.. options? all those add up
The Super Duty with the XL package is probably the best bargain out of all the Ford trucks right now. You can get all the important options (pw/pl, Sync if it's important to you, aluminum wheels, tbc, etc) for way less than even a basic xlt. Price compared to capability in an F150 XL Ecoboost or a low optioned XLT Ecoboost is even more apparent that the XL Super Duty is a great deal.
Not necessarily an on topic post, but an observation I made.

I was looking for an XL initially, but then I realized the price difference was like $540 and the XLT trim had power windows and locks. My reasoning is that I could always negotiate the $540 into the discount anyway.
The stuff you would have to add would be power windows/locks with remote, powered tow mirrors (lit/heated), cruise control, tinted rear windows, storage tray under rear seats (if applicable) which quickly adds up when they're separate.
I *thought* the XL would be the best value because less features should mean less price, but it doesn't offer significant price savings for the amount of functionality that you lose, that's not really a good value anymore. If it was several thousand dollars less I could live with crank windows and manually locking and unlocking every door, but that's not how it was.
Other thing to think about is if you can with the XL you can always upgrade to the xlt stuff a lot of the times down the road if you want. I have a early 99 xlt, so compared to the trucks of today I have a basic work truck. Funny how technology changes things.
I have an XLT I wish I had an XL I know some day the power windows and locks are going to bite me in the butt. But I bought it off the lot as a year old truck paid less than a XL would be brand new so not to bad.
Problem with XL's is the lack of any pockets, you don't realize how much you'll miss the door pockets until you don't have them.
yep... thats the prob i have. the one fricken pocket at the bottom of the door is way too small.
back to the original post on the 31,250.00. that price is a decent deal, even if its a xl. you wont regret the purchase.
my Xl came with a electronics pkg. it has the power windows, locks, cd, cruise etc etc. the only major difference i saw between my xl and the xlt was the wheels, carpet and cloth. out of those 3 i really only wanted the wheels. living in the north east i like the idea of no carpet (winter snow/salt and mud make them look horrible) and the "pleather" seats are actually feel pretty good considering. the quality of these vinyl or "pleather" seats have come leaps and bounds from even 20 yrs ago.
This XL has the power package which includes power windows, side mirrors, heated side mirrors, upgraded radio with single cd,and upgraded door panels. Not sure what they mean by upgraded door panels but im hoping its increased pockets.I dont generally use the pockets for more than a pair of gloves and trash LOL. Also has the cloth seat upgrade as well. The only thing holding me back is what they want to give me for my 2009 XL SD.My SD has 41,000 miles and is super clean, reg cab 4x4,8ft bed, power windows, locks and heated side mirrors,6 speed standard 5.4. with roof lights.also has chrome bumpers and fackory cab step. They told me 12,500.NADA says between 15,000and 16,000 for a clean trade.
