Last year on the coldest day it was -23 F and I got stranded on the way to work due to diesel fuel gelling. Later that day, once it had warmed up a bit, it fired up like nothing had happened. After that incident and this winter I install the front grill cover, pre-heat engine block on a timer that comes on at 4:00 am and add an additive to diesel fuel tank. The SD truck will not fit in garage, so it sleeps outside, and it was -2 F last night again and winter has only just started. But – it still seems like the transmission (or something) makes a terrible groaning/blowing sound for the first couple of miles before it warms up and then operates normally and this weird sound goes away. What is this groaning/blowing (difficult to describe) sound that I hear for the first few miles ? Any heating kit that will help this ? Thanks
