2002 ranger 3.0 a/t has code p1336

mil with code p1336 crankshaft/camshaft range performance i replaced cam. pos. sensor and synchro shaft cleared code but it came back after driving a couple miles mind you i dont have the alignment tool but i got a good eye lol the mil is not lit up on dash anymore but code still show up can someone please shed some knowledge i ordered the tool it wont be here til next week though thank you

if the tool does not take care of it....clean the connection on the Crank and if that does not do it I would swap out the crank.........on your Motor changing that syncro is maintenance anyways so no lose there....you might have saved your engine in the long run

If the CEL isn't lit, but the code is still stored, did you try disconnecting the battery B- cable for a few minutes, to clear the code????

thank you for the replies i bought the alignment tool it wont be here til next week i cleaned the connectors to both cmp and ckp before i went out and got the cmp and synchro ill try disconnecting the batt. and see if that gets rid of the code for good if not ill wait it out for the tool and redo it its only a 10 minute job anyways but lets say after i use the alignment tool the code still shows up i get a new ckp and the code still stays would the pcm be the culprit then i guess i could backprobe pcm pins and check for pwr and grnd does anyone have a diag. for pin locations on pcm
