I've looked around Youtube, its just hard to get a sense of what they sound like online.

Here's what mine sounds like. 36" long muffler, 2 1/4 pipes stepped to 2 1/2 for muffler, no cat, 2-1 system

The shape of the glasspack will have affect how it sounds. Long and smaller diameter (say, 36" by 4" diameter body) will have a deep rumble at idle. A shorter, larger diameter one (12" by 5" diameter body) will have a sharp crack when the engine is revved.

Jameson
That sounds pretty good

I hate it when my truck stumbles like that

I'll keep looking for a little while. Looks like I won't have the money together for a few months anyway.

Since it's the weekend and I've got nothing else to do, I may take Jameson's approach and temporarily rearrange my system. Just have both pipes dump out in front of the passenger's side rear tire.

Also noticed a while back that one of the tailpipes was pushed back a good 3 inches from when I got rear-ended by a classmate. Crimped the pipe where it bends over the axle

Whoa that kink was a major restriction!! That rust doesn't seem all that bad. When I first got mine the exhaust system was practically flaking apart with rusted through muffs.

They might sound good with your engine, but they'd make my truck start to fart if I put the pedal to the floor. I don't know if it's the compression ratio that does it? But to me glasspacks or any straight through muffler sounds like s*** on these engines in stock form. Now on the engines in the gt40 mkII's, then those mufflers sound good.

Welded a piece of tube through the cat.

A few other modifications, and I've got the cat and muff tacked up

Realized the muffler is running too close to the driveshaft so I hung up the tools till tomorrow.

I need to unbolt the pipe from the manifolds so I can weld everything solid. Is there a gasket on there that I'm gonna have to replace?

I've read that if not all, some engines didn't have gaskets for the manifolds. I'd put some on though if you take them off, quality ones though.

Mine didn't have any. I decided not to put any in when i finished my swap. No problems yet. If you don't, make sure the flange bolts are nice and tight

Interesting drone. Is that just the way the camera recorded it?
