im building a hot rod pickup, looking to use a dually diff, probably a dana 70
simply im wondering if dually wheels bolt up to a non dually diff?
i know there are adapters but was unsure of this is to offset the wheels to clear brakes and or chassis rails rather than a requirement to fit the dually rims
to put it simply, the dually axle is wider (more space between backing plates) than the SRW axle.
the reason is because dually rims are offset of course so you can run two wheels side by side.this offset means the inner dual rim wouldn't bolt to the SRW axle because the tire would run into the springs/frame.
thus the reason for putting dually wheel spacers on a SRW axle,to accomplish the same thing like you stated.
given that my chassis is narrower thats no problem... any idea where i can get some measurements on dually wheel offsets and such? How far in and out from the wheel face do they go?
i have been offered a 2006 f350 diff for a half decent price, i think its a Dana 80, attractive as it has discs, decent ratio and LSD from factory but its very wide lol
so yeah, any idea where i can get info on measurements for the late 70s dana 70 f350 dually rims and the 2006 f350 rims?
